As online marketing evolves it seems that the more we are able to do, the more we must do to help our businesses gain an edge over our competition in the online world. Fortunately, there is no shortage of online marketing tools to help us in this pursuit. In fact the selection of online marketing tools we have is so large that it can be difficult to determine which ones we should be using. And while there are many great (and a few not so great) tools available, we would like to focus on a few that we think would benefit most businesses.
Founded in 2008 as a project management software company, Mavenlink is a good option for small to medium sized businesses. This tool integrates with Google Apps and allows users to track projects and expenses as well as share files.
If you’re looking for a simple way to track your own SEO, Moz is a great tool. Formerly called SEOMoz, this tool allows you to track and compare keywords and phrases as well as to generate reports based on a variety of metrics.
Need a way to store large files and to be able to access them from anywhere? Need to share files that are too large to email? Then Dropbox may be your answer. Dropbox is a popular cloud program that allows you to share files back and forth with co-workers and business partners.
Google Drive is another online marketing tool for file management. From word processing to spreadsheets, Google Drive offers a host of useful options to business owners who are looking to be able to easily store, access and share documents. With an impressive 15GB of available storage and an unlimited amount of users, Google Drive is a robust cloud storage option which just happens to be free!
If your business has delved into social media, you have probably discovered that managing your social media is a much bigger job than you originally anticipated. Hootsuite is an excellent online marketing tool for simplifying that task for you. It allows you to see all of your social media accounts on one screen plus it allows you to set up various streams that might be relevant to you at any given time. For example, you can see who is tagging your competition or you may choose to follow certain hashtags.
Another advantage of Hootsuite, is that you can schedule posts and tweets for certain times. This feature is especially helpful in targeting various audiences.
Looking to set up an email newsletter? Mail Chimp provides easy to use templates that can be set up to look like your company website. Different mailing lists can be compiled and segmented within Mail Chimp so that you are able to conduct targeted email campaigns to your customers and prospects. Mail Chimp also offers easy integration with your social media platforms.
Are there any other online marketing tools that might benefit your business? You bet there are. The main thing though is establishing the goals of your online marketing campaign and determining how you will measure success. Once these are established, then selecting the right online marketing tools will be much easier.
