How To Use Google Tag Manager For SEO Google Tag...
Having a new website designed can be a very exciting process. Once you start talking about design elements and features with your designer, it is natural to be anxious to see the finished product. The length of time that it takes to build a new website varies greatly depending on a number of factors. Some websites can be up and running in as little as a few days while other may take a month or two.The following are a few of the factors that can affect the length of time that it will take to build your website:
One of the things that has the most influence over how long it will take to complete your website is whether you are going with a template or have opted for custom design. With a template, your designer may have to make a few tweaks here and there but generally speaking, they simply have to insert your content. This is obviously a much quicker process than a custom designed site.
Just like a skyscraper takes longer to build than a backyard shed, a fifty page website is going to be more involved than a four page site. The more pages that your site has, the more important it will be to have intuitive navigation as well.
Your designer will have to take more time to make sure that a very large site still provides a good user experience and that information is easy to find.
The more content that you are able to provide yourself, the sooner your website can be built. Most website companies don’t mind helping you to build content, but the more this is necessary the longer it will take before you see the finished product on the web.
Even if you have already provided content, your designer will want to spend some time making sure that it is optimized for search engines. After all, it doesn’t matter how good your content is if no one ever finds it on the web.
Depending on what features your website has, there may be extra programming required or interaction with third parties. For example, if you are using a payment gateway such as Moneris or BeanStream, you may have to get certain information from your accounting department or bank.
Also, your website company will want to test any features to ensure that they are all working properly and that your website is not going to be a source of frustration for your users as soon as it is launched.
While you may be understandably anxious to see your new website up and running, it is most important that you have a quality site that is well optimized for search engines and provides a good user experience.
That being said, you should never be afraid to call your web design company and ask them how it’s going. Although there may be many people and departments that are working on your site, your web designer should be able to give you a good idea of where they are in the process and the approximate amount of time that you should expect it to take.
