The Relationship Between PPC And SEO Purpose of SEO and...
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of making webpages as relevant as possible in order to earn them a higher ranking in search engines.
Let’s face it, Google is the new phone book! And if you want potential customers to find your business, they had better be able to find it on Google (or other search engines). Ideally, it would be best if your website came up as one of first few listings when a potential customers “Googled” a product or service that you provide. People generally stay on the first page of search results, and when they start clicking on links, chances are, that they’ll be clicking on the top results. Approximately ninety percent of the users conducting online searches stick to the top results, so you need to rank for various keywords that will get you into those positions. Sorry to tell you this, but if you’re on page 4 and 5, they’ll probably never get to you.
And while Google doesn’t give away all their secrets about how they determine ranking, they do give a lot of tips on how to get your site to the top.
That’s where SEO services come in – they help your website rank higher in relevant searches, which drives more traffic to your website. This means that more potential customers will see what you have to offer and it increases your chances of generating more revenue.
SEO services is much more than simply filling your site with keywords. It involves knowing how different search engines work, researching what people search for and the actual words and phrases they use in their search. It involves not only editing web content, but also optimizing HTML and associated coding and promoting the site through backlinks. Sometimes SEO is simply a matter of making sure your site is structured in a way that search engines understand.
SEO professionals will work with you to determine what and whose searches your company stands to benefit from the most. Your company brand, offerings and target audience are all taken into consideration.
Some business owners with a little coding experience try to optimize their sites on their own, but for most this is a mistake as it is possible to over stuff your website with keywords and backlinks, which would cause your site to be flagged by the search engine as spam.
Google’s rules clearly state that if you try to manipulate your ranking in a way that it disapproves of, they will penalize your site – and Google penalizes many sites – sometimes for months!
This would defeat your goal of getting a significant listing in search engines.
Competition among businesses today is fierce and so is the competition to get top rankings in search engines. That is why many business owners turn to SEO professionals to help their company get top spot. Most business owners don’t have the time to learn SEO themselves or hire new staff to do it in house. Technology is moving faster and to keep ahead of the competition they must turn to SEO specialists.
