A Social Media Strategy
Design Styles and Technologies
Everybody knows how important social media is for businesses and web designs these days. In order for any business to be successful, establishing a social media strategy is essential. Part of the strategy should include website design. Design styles and technologies have evolved a great deal over the years, and now they go hand in hand with social media.
Just about every page on the internet has a Facebook “Like” button or Twitter “Follow” button, as well as the option to share the content with others. No design or layout is complete without these buttons. Likewise, every business profile on social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn, etc…, has a link to the home page or official blog of the company.
The design of social media pages is just as important as the web page designs for the official home page. These days, it could be said that the internet is an interactive marketplace – almost live even. Consider how you want to present yourself and your company in front of consumers through your website as well as social media platforms.
On your Twitter and Google+ pages, for example, you will want to use a design that represents your business. Ideally, you should use the same layout and design scheme for your social media profiles as your website. Everything should go together perfectly.
In order to interact with customers through social media, you will need to use the right images. One picture speaks a thousand words, after all. Don’t use cheap stock photos, either – you will need to put up a great, high quality image that shows off your personality. All the other photos you use should show what your business is all about. A web designer will help you determine where to place the images and how they should be resized to meet various requirements of the social media platforms.
Don’t use too many, images, however – you don’t want your profiles to look messy. White space is important too.
Billions of people have profiles on sites like Facebook and Twitter. That is a LOT of people to market to! Think of all the potential customers who might see your ads. This is why so many companies are using these platforms as a means to reach out to their targeted demographic.
If you want to compete with other businesses out there, you must design noticeable, attractive ads. Think carefully about which colours to use, possible memes, sizes, style, etc.
You can’t simply throw up a social media profile and forget about it. You must update it regularly and – most importantly – use it as a way to interact with people. Interactive web design is a must, not just with the website itself, but with social media as well. Encourage people to share information with you, ask questions, make comments, answer polls, and so forth.
Web design isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. It’s always been important, and always will be. It will continue to evolve, however, as companies come up with more ways to impress and interact with audiences via social media profiles.
