Generally speaking, most SEO services companies offer four payment models including monthly, contract, custom and hourly.
Monthly payments are like getting a subscription to SEO services. The actual cost per month will depend on the level of services that your business requires. The range of services required for the business will be worked out between the business and the SEO services agency and then priced accordingly.
This type of payment structure is ideally suited towards businesses with a lot of competition who can benefit from having a full time SEO services company “on the payroll”.
If a business is new to SEO or is unsure about the benefits of working with an SEO services company, they may opt for a contract services payment model. The types of services that might be included in this model are content writing, a website audit or setting up the business’s social media accounts.
This model may also be a good choice for a business that already has its own in-house marketing department but wants to run a special project or campaign that requires additional SEO expertise.
Custom services are priced according to individual SEO campaigns or projects. Prices vary greatly in these because the scope of a project can be as large or as small as the customer requires. An example of a custom service would be a one-time campaign to promote a new product or service.
Like contract services, this model may be used by companies that already have an in-house marketing department and require additional SEO expertise.
Alternatively, this model might be used by a company that is already on a monthly SEO plan but has a special promotion that they want to give extra attention to.
Some businesses feel that they don’t require or can’t afford regular SEO services but they still would like to get some help from the experts from time to time. For these business, the hourly consulting model can be a good choice.
Whichever model you choose for your business, make sure that it makes sense for your business and your specific needs. Beware of companies that practice shady SEO techniques that could ultimately harm your company more than it helps and if an SEO company makes unrealistic promises such as guaranteeing the number one spot on Google or instant results, do not give them your business.
Instead, look for an established company that has proven results and that is willing to explain their processes and payment models thoroughly before you make a commitment.
